The Balletto di Venezia company launches its second season: from July 5 to 30, 12 dancers from the world’s best dance schools will perform in Venice, Moncalvo, Porto Rotondo, Florence, Treviso, and Dublin.
The 2025 edition of Stelle di Domani, the project by the historic Balletto di Venezia company, is set to captivate thousands of spectators: from 5 to 30 July, 12 international dancers, among the finest emerging talents from some of the world’s most prestigious dance institutions, will perform in 12 shows, 11 of which will be open to the public, across Venice, Moncalvo, Porto Rotondo, Florence, Treviso and Dublin. Held under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the initiative offers a unique opportunity to experience the art of classical dance performed by future étoiles, carefully selected by Alessio Carbone, Artistic Director of the company and former Principal Dancer at the Paris Opéra.
“Stelle di Domani is a major opportunity for these dancers, exceptional graduates who, through our company, have received their first professional contract,” says Alessio Carbone. “Il Balletto di Venezia will bring them to the stage in a diverse classical and neoclassical repertoire: the intensive programme and an outstanding team of teachers and ballet masters will support their technical and artistic development.”
Born into an artistic family, Alessio Carbone grew up surrounded by the world of Il Balletto di Venezia. Around 35 years ago, his father Giuseppe, a key figure in the history of ballet in Italy, founded the company in Venice. The project lasted five years, after which the legacy of classical ballet in Venice disappeared without trace for more than three decades. In 2024, Alessio brought the company back to life under a new star: the talents of tomorrow. At his side is Gerardine Connolly, Executive Director of Il Balletto di Venezia and former Chair of the Board of Ballet Ireland: “I am absolutely delighted to open the second season of our project: after the great success of 2024, expectations are extremely high and we cannot wait to embark once again on this enchanting journey.”
Aged between 17 and 19, these new dance talents come from exceptional institutions including Académie Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo, Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School and American Ballet Theatre Studio Company in New York, École de Danse de l’Opéra National de Paris, The Royal Ballet School in London, and the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm. From Swan Lake to Le Corsaire, from Tarantella to Don Quixote, Stelle di Domani 2025 will feature pas de deux, solos and ensemble pieces in a performance designed to captivate audiences.
CALENDAR
Stelle di Domani 2025 opens on 5 July at 8.30 pm at the Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice, which will also provide the setting for the evenings of 6, 10, 11 and 12 July. The event on 6 July will be reserved exclusively for the festival’s sponsors, while the performance
on 12 July will be a special evening dedicated to solidarity: all proceeds from that night will be donated to Still I Rise, the non-profit organisation that provides high-quality education to refugee and vulnerable children in several countries around the world.
The performances will continue on 19 July in Moncalvo, in the province of Asti, at Orsolina28, as the culmination of a residency with choreographer Simone Valastro. The tour will then continue on 20 July at Teatro Mario Ceroli in Porto Rotondo, before arriving in Florence on 23 July for the Florence Dance Festival at the Chiostro Maggiore of Santa Maria Novella. The project will then return to Veneto, with performances at Teatro delle Voci in Treviso on 27 and 28 July. The 2025 season of Stelle di Domani will close with an event of even greater international scope, taking place on 30 July at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, Ireland.
