Social Commitment

Social Commitment

Il Balletto di Venezia’s social commitment reflects the vision of dance as a force capable of creating tangible impact beyond the performance context.

This vision includes its collaboration with Still I Rise, an international non-profit organisation that provides free, high-quality education to refugee and vulnerable children in some of the world’s most complex contexts. This partnership led, in 2024, to the Grand Dance Gala for Still I Rise at Teatro Carcano in Milan, a high-profile event that brought together étoiles and artists from leading international dance companies, with the aim of supporting the organisation’s educational projects.

The journey continued in 2025 with a performance as part of Stelle di Domani, strengthening a collaboration focused not only on fundraising, but also on raising public awareness and engaging new generations of dancers. Alongside this work is a direct educational dimension, which Alessio Carbone leads through classical ballet workshops at the Still I Rise International School in Nairobi, with further developments to come in the near future.

In parallel, Il Balletto di Venezia collaborates with institutions active in the health and social care sectors, such as Maison Médicale Notre-Dame du Lac, a healthcare facility dedicated exclusively to end-of-life care. Performances have been organised there for people in vulnerable circumstances.

Together, these initiatives define an ongoing commitment in which dance becomes a tool for connection, inclusion and cultural responsibility.
